Books, Magazines & More
The Auckland Quilt Guild maintains an extensive collection of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs available for monthly loan and is open meeting days from 10am until 12noon. This service is included as part of your membership.

We subscribe to magazines from New Zealand, Australia, USA, Japan and the UK, and purchase several new books every month. We have books on patchwork and quilting as well as quilt related subjects such as design, dyeing, and mixed-media. We welcome advice and feedback from members on our book selection.

Reservations & Borrowing
We have an electronic library system providing you with a fast and friendly library experience; if you want a particular book from our catalogue we will do our best to locate and reserve it for you. When you join the guild you will be issued a library card. Please ensure you present your library card; we can’t issue you any books without it.

By using your registered email we will automatically send you a detailed reminder notice a week before your items are due.

New books can be reserved by writing your name and membership number on the ‘reserve’ card on the front of the item. We like these books to remain on display until half an hour before the meeting time, when – if you are top of the list – you can check out your books.

We lend up to 20 items per member. If you are not able to return your books by their due date, please email or phone the librarian with the barcode number of the item and your membership number, or ask a friend to return them for you. There is an honesty box to collect overdue fines, with all funds being used for expanding the library.

We welcome all members to volunteer in the library on meeting days – it’s a rewarding experience and opportunity to help develop our Guild.
